WINNER UPDATE: This was the best Blog party ever and we are so thrilled by all the lovely things you had to say. SO we picked two winners!! Little Blue Sparrow for providing next months theme (PETER PAN!!)and Treasures Found for providing my next read. Now we have quite alot ofcleaning up to do and wee games to play so no promises about the timeliness of the creation of your clutches…but they will come and oh will you be delighted (or so we hope!)

It was an incredible time. We ate incredible sweets and met incredible people. Suffice it to say all the madness has been steeped out of us!

We walked into a child’s world …
a place of light and play and the play of light...
to find it had been transformed by madness into something more whimsical ( and refreshing) than it had ever been before!

There were old books…
of most ancient pedigree..
jewels…
a magical device..most certainly
lovely unflorals…

So we set to work, taking our turns at madness and delight…

There was even evidence of a cherry thief!

The hat was shown a most excellent time and the party-goers too….

City statues require that our lawns be a certain height and shaved at regular intervals. But at the edge of our domain, away from regulatory eyes, there is a patch of lawn that we have left to nature. Seeing what is rarely allowed on suburban lands, we wonder why we have never let the horticulturalist-of-all design our gardens before…

A hatter-made (show the tailor to the door!) dessert for a tea party and a superlative gift for a lover of cherries.
A Cherry Extravaganza Trifle
Usher ceremoniously into one place:
- 1 Jar Homemade Maraschino cherries (make at least 2 so one can be gifted! Because A wee imp was going to consume this delight, we kept ours booze free and used lemonade in its place and a tsp of rosewater because we are mad!!! )
- 1 Batch Vegan Lemon Curd (scroll to bottom for recipe, seriously…amazing…easy…curd)
- 1 Batch Vegan Whipped Cream
- 1 Cake Product for slicing and layering (a vegan treat can usually be had at whole foods, or make it
- Handfuls of fresh, pitted cherries
With this marvelous assemblage of ingredients at hand you may now proceed to Trifle Creation…
In this creative moment let the fates guide you and the muses reign your hand, so that, in the order dictated by inspiration, your ingredients find stratification in a glass container. Far be it from us to interfere in your moment of parto artistico, but I often begin with a foundational cake layer, spatula on some curd, billow a mass of cream atop that and then sprinkle with fresh and maraschino cherries.
Repeat the piling until such time as you have exhausted either your energies, your ingredients, or space in your serveware.
BRILLIANT
It had, in fact, a sort of mixed flavour of cherry tart, custard, pineapple, roast turkey, toffee, and hot buttered toast...
